Our next stop is Rawang!
I don't visit Rawang very often as it is considered far from where I live. But when I have the chance, I'll try to stop by this place for lunch. This place is not very easy to find as it is located within a housing area.
When you mention the place Rawang among the foodies, the first thing that most likely comes to their mind would be Steamed Tilapia fish. There are a few popular ones in Rawang but I personally prefers this one... Restoran R Cheng Fei Zhou Yu Wan Tan Mee.
It has a rather long name to remember. The only thing you need to remember from the name of the restaurant is Fei Zhou Yu (means Tilapia) and Wan Tan Mee.
Their signature dish is obviously the Steamed Tilapia served with Wan Tan Mee. Everyone gets 1 whole Tilapia each and you have 6 flavours to choose from Dark Soy Sauce, Taucu aka Fermented Yellow Soybean Paste Sauce, Golden Needle Mushroom, Deep Fried, Tomyam and Curry. You are also given an option to add Lala (clams) alongside with the Tilapia and Wan Tan Mee.
The one I ordered this time was the Taucu Steamed Tilapia.
And my husband ordered the Deep Fried Tilapia with additional Lala.
If you think the portion is too big for you, you could always order 1 for 2 to share.
Other than the Tilapia Wan Tan Mee dishes, you could also order regular dishes to be eaten with plain rice as well. Their menu is written in chinese but don't worry... their menu has photos of all the dishes. So if you can't speak chinese, just point at the photos to order or you could just ask the person taking your order.
